For the manufacturers of food processing and packaging machinery, India is an important market in Asia that has strong growth potential. Due to extraordinary developments in all important sectors of the Indian industry, demand for food processing and packaging machinery has been rising in the past years – a demand that can not be met exclusively out of India’s production. Despite a considerable increase in the supply provided by India’s industry for food processing and packaging machinery, there is a high demand for foreign machinery featuring state-of-the-art technology. The export of food processing and packaging machines to India advanced by 159 million Euro in 2005 which is 7 % higher than in last year.
